This is so interesting. I read The Beans of Egypt Maine close to 20 years ago when I lived in Brentwood, Tennessee--on par with York County for income and the prince of home. We read it in our ladies book club and couldn't imagine that it might be real. Now 20 years later, here I am living in northern Oxford County, working as a lawyer in child protection and I have a filing cabinet full of files of the Bean's neighbors and family. It's true.
