The Headline:
Woman charged with DWI after Sunday morning drive-through crash.
She was heading to Bible Study and missed the turn going through the Dunkin Donuts Drive-Thru. She was charged with aggravated DUI, as her Blood Alcohol reading was above the lesser charge limit. She admitted to drinking wine before leaving the house.
Which is reminiscent of a story that my friend the Ohio State Trooper likes to tell: his favorite DUI was an arrest in the parking lot of the local Southern Baptist Church (which does not allow members to drink) where he arrested a fellow while the man's wife and their three kids, plus most of the congregation, looked on. That fellow just hadn't sobered up from his Saturday night poker game before he hopped in the car to drive to church.
That story is unbelievable. Wine on Sunday BEFORE church? The state trooper is now a deacon at that same church.

This was a bizarre story. Lately the Portsmouth Herald has been printing some weird ones.
