I link you to a positive article about Bill Belichick and his involvment in Amer-I-Can, Jim Brown's non-profit Foundation that helps young men end violence and gang involvement (of course it helps that the Foundation is run by a Cleveland Brown and the Greatest Running Back in NFL History).
Says Brown of Bill:
“He has been face to face with my gangsters in L.A. and in Cleveland,” Brown said. “Belichick is the only person that you would know who has been in my home with these guys. He has been in the hotel room in Cleveland with them; not only that, he’s been to the graduation; not only that, he got us our first contract in Rhode Island. And not only that, when he fined his players one year, he gave all the fine money to the foundation.”
This comes close to leveling out Billy's Bon Jovi fascination..... Seriously, as my work colleague would say 'wicked mad props' to Belichick for his support of this good work.
And it's good to be in Ohio (for once) where sports talk is mostly Ohio State recruiting updates (Hint: remember the name Terrelle Pryor), Ohio State Basketball and an occasional Cleveland Indians news bite. Not one mention of Brady's ankle all day.....
And our thoughts and prayers go out to Bob Ryan, outstanding Boston Globe sports columnist, and his entire family. His 37 year old son , a US Diplomat was found dead in Pakistan yesterday.
